It's Tuesday night and we're ready to head out on a ride. This is a no drop ride. We will ride as a group to Leader's Park to do some laps. At Leader's Park we usually break up into some other groups. After a few laps we all return to the store together. Total ride is somewhere between 8 and 15 miles. If the trails are muddy we will likely stick to the bike trail. If weather conditions don't allow a ride to Leader's Park....we will head to other areas of town. As the temps drop and the snow falls we will more than likely stay away from Leader's Park. We will be riding at night in the Spring Fall and Winter. Bring your lights if you have them. We do have some Light and Motion lights you can try out. After the ride we will return to Spoke-N-Sport and spark up the grill for some brats. If there's something else you want to grill...feel free to bring it. Bring a beer to trade and one (or two) to drink. Be sure to check out all of our events at www.spoke-n-sport.com/to/calendar.

Join Indievents and Club David, Wednesday, August 23, for the South Dakota Premiere of TATARA SAMURAI. Gosuke, born in the village of Tatara, has spend his youth being groomed to become the next murage, the highest qualified blacksmith in the village. However, after vicious raids on his village, Gosuke decides he must leave his home and become a samurai to protect his people. A visiting merchant introduces him to Yohei, who promises glory and guidance as he invites Gosuke to join the honored Oda Army. Terrified in face of real battle, Gosuke begins to lose confidence in his ability to protect Tatara as a samurai and flees. After returning to Tatara, Gosuke again meets with Yohei, who convinces him to exchange swords, relics of the past, with guns, the new technology, if they have any hope of surviving the raids. Shinpei, Gosuke’s childhood friend, tries to warn him of the dangers of guns, only to be branded as a traitor by Yohei. Shortly after, Yohei coldly shoots Shinnosuke, the leader of the region. Gosuke, realizing the grave mistake he has made in trusting Yohei, uses a tatara steel sword to slice Yohei’s gun in half. After all the destruction, Gosuke realizes that the true essence of a samurai – honor and compassion – was within him all along, and that as a murage he can do more for Tatara than he could ever do by wielding a weapon. You can watch a trailer for the film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woRhcg-JzOM The screening will be at 7 PM and 9:30 pm at Club David. Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 at the door. You can purchase advance tickets at Club David, Zandbroz, or online here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tatara-samurai-movie-screening-south-dakota-premiere-tickets-36263144040 We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Marah in the Mainsail, Dollskin, Next to None and Eli Rocks are performing at Bigs Bar in Sioux Falls on Wednesday August 23rd. Cinematic is the word most often used to describe Marah in the Mainsail's sound. Precise yet primitive jungle drums set the stage for the eclectic and powerful ensemble to sweep you away into their haunting world. Like oil and water, Durry's gravel voice alongside Mariah Mercedes's crystal clarity form a stirring, yet beautiful contrast. All being thrusted foreword by aggressive percussion, growling bass, and soaring brass. Their lyrics paint a thrilling picture of monsters and ghosts, murderers and thieves, love and guilt, and everything in between. 2016 was a big year for Phoenix, AZ Rock quartet Doll Skin. After touring the country with their very first EP, "In Your Face" vocalist Sydney Dolezal, guitarist Alex Snowden, bassist Nicole Rich, and drummer Meghan Herring went on to defy the odds and destroy expectations, showing the world that rock has no age requirement. The band topped off the year with an appearance in AP Magazine’s 2016 list of “7 of the Best Rising Bands Under 21”and will start 2017 off on an equally high note as they to release their sophomore LP "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" on EMP LABEL GROUP on June 16th, 2017, along with playing the first week and a half of 2017 VANS WARPED TOUR dates. NEXT TO NONE is a progressive metalcore band based out of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania featuring Max Portnoy on drums, Derrick Schneider on guitar, Kris Rank on bass, and Thomas Cuce on keyboards and lead vocals.
